Biodegradable polymeric nano-objects for various biomedical applications

摘要 :
Polymers have been extensively used for biomedical materials due to their unique material features. Of those features, biodegradability is thought as the most important one. Accordingly, functional biodegradable polymers resulting from polyester, polycarbonate and polysaccharide have been developed in our laboratory. Following the synthesis of functional biodegradable polymers with a desired chemical structure, they are further converted into carrier or scaffold-objects for biomedical applications. Those objects can be nanoparticles, nanocapsules, micelles, nanofibers, porous spheres and hydrogels while the biomedical applications we are interested include cancer therapy, wound healing, antibacterial agents and stem cell therapy.
